Philippians 4:4 The Message Bible

"Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you're on their side, working with them and not against them." ~ Philippians 4:4 (Message Bible)

Old Fashion Christmas

I've been rattlin' my brain trying to get some Christmas decorating ideas for our Christmas Party this year! As I've posted before, my color scheme is golds and burgundies! I want this party to be very fun and inviting! I really want to keep the decorating this year, simple! (Christmas is my time! I love it! SO I usually go crazy with decorations! My house is usually covered!) Yes, that's right, I said simple! Lol I kept going back to the image of Little House on the Prairie Christmas! The full Greenery, the naturally beautiful decorations, that's what I'm going for this year.

I am very excited for our tree this year! Sticking with the Old Fashion Christmas theme, I am getting my son, Tristan, involved. Together, we will be making Cinnamon Dough Christmas Ornaments . These are VERY easy, and loads of fun to do with kids! I might even go get some metallic gold paint and have Tristan help me paint them! I think the best part of Christmas is family time! This is a great way to spend quality time together and get decorating accomplished! Once the Ornaments have baked, cooled and painted, we will string pretty ribbon through the hole so we can hang them on our tree! These ornaments smell SO good! It really adds to the Christmas atmosphere! Now, my mom is a huge antique lover! And for years she has collected old cookie cutters made out of copper and steel! They are really special! I thought it would be great to string these up as well and hang them on our tree! They would look something like this.. Cookie Cutter Ornaments  I was really worried that our tree wouldn't have enough sparkle, but with these metal additions to the tree, I think it will be perfect! To add to the homey feel of out tree, this year we will be making Cranberry Garland . This is an awesome addition to any tree! And what I love about it is that its yet another project to do with your family! Whats another fun addition to any Christmas?? Pine cones!  I'm going to be doing a lot with pine cones this year! Pine Cone Crafts We are going to paint and glitter some pine cones and hang those on our tree as well! Also, on this site there are tons of different ways to use pine cones...one of them has you place twigs, cranberries and pine cones around picture frames and mirrors. This inspired me! I thought why not take that same concept and make a Christmas Chandelier! Above my dinning room table is an ugly, old ceiling fan! I hate it! It definitely doesn't make for a great atmosphere! But I thought that I could totally take this twig concept and almost "hide" my ugly Chandelier and make it a fun Christmas element all at the same time!

I hope you can take these wonderful ideas a dress up your home for the holidays!

Wonderful Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving yesterday, and I hope you did too!! My dad ALWAYS does the turkey and (like last year) he Smoked the Turkey instead of roasting it! MMMM!! It is so good!! It kinda reminds you of Bacon..lol but its TURKEY!! Who wouldn't love that? Needless to say, the food was amazing and we had a very peaceful night! We decorated the Thanksgiving table with great cheap finds! Our table cloth was a beautiful and affordable! Just a mere $5 for a cloth table cloth is unheard of! We scored this deal at Big Lots ! ( Let me just say that, if you have never been to big lots, you NEED TO GO! lol Seriously, everything in the store has great prices and you would be surprise by the variety they have there! Right now they TONS of Christmas stuff! Everything from Christmas Trees to Christmas presents...they have them! And my favorite part is that their prices are very affordable! Ooooohh!! It feels so good to buy something cute, that you need and it has a GREAT price!) We decorated with left over pumpkins (We buy a ton of punkins every year to process for our pies and breads.), some fall leaves (lol of course fake because, lets face it there is no color to the leaves in Phoenix!) and our annual Thanksgiving pilgrim candle holds! Even though our table wasn't SPECTACULAR and expensive, it was very homey and loving! Isn't that what Thanksgiving is all about? We sat around a beautiful table and talked about what we are thankful for; How the Lord has blessed us this past year. Our troubles He has turned to Joy! We just sat there (bellies full and happy) and where in awe of  how the Lord provided!

I hope you reflected on your blessings yesterday and look forward to this new upcoming year and all the possibilities this year holds!

Cute Holiday Ideas

I found these really cute ideas for the holidays, that I think will compliment any holiday event!

Fabric Pine Cone Decorations!! lol I know they don't sound that appealing...but let me tell you..they really are cute! You can make them out of old scrap fabric that you have lying around or even just go to the "Remnant" cart at JoAnn's You can get some smokin' deals on those "Remnant" carts! And I thought you could even use paper instead of fabric! Some cute, seasonal scrapbook paper or even Christmas Wrapping Paper would be adorable!! They would be great for Center Pieces, Ornaments and even special gifts for co-workers or family!Check it out!!

Natural Center Pieces! These are so welcoming! Perfect for the Thanksgiving season! Lots of cute ideas on the Home Made Simple page! But my favorite is the Gratitude Tree! Love this! So cute and natural and very significant! We get so caught up in the turkey and the fixin's and football and sleep, that we forget that we need to have a an attitude of gratitude! I think this is a great way to help us remember what Thanksgiving is all about! The kids would love this project! If you have little ones you can prep everything before hand, then sit with the kids and ask them what the are grateful for and write it on the leaf for them! Or if you have old kids, try having them help you cut out all the leaves and going and picking just the wright branches for your Gratitude Tree! They will have kick out of it! I want to make this a tradition with my kids to do this every year! Its so personal and family oriented!! Check it out!

Apple Wreath! This is SOOO cute! I'm not a huge "Country" style person..but I love this! It fits the Thanksgiving holiday really well and its fairly easy to make! Very cool! Check it out!

Table Runner! These are so unique! I really love this! Great combo with the Gratitude Tree! This you can actually make a family Tree on your Thanksgiving Day Table! How special is that! Every family member will have their name on your family tree and when a new member is added all you have to do is write them in! AWESOME!! Check it out!

Christmas Party Planning!

So I'm starting to plan for the big Annual Christmas Party! Man does time fly! This years theme is Christmas Around The World! I'm very excited! I'm definitely going for an old world feel to the party....lots of golds! Im still trying to figure out the second primary color. Maybe a Plum or a Burgundy?? This is always where I start, when I plan a party...I look at what the theme is, then from there I look at how I want everything to feel. ya know...do I want it warm and inviting...or do I want a fun & peppy atmosphere; casual or formal?

Last year, the Christmas party was a Ugly Sweater Party, so I wanted to keep everything fun and lively! I had snowmen everywhere wearing ugly sweaters and to top it all off we had a amazing City wide Picture Scavenger Hunt! We had a blast! This year, I thought it would be appropriate to theme for something a little more formal and more elegant! So instead of a buffet style dinner (like last year), we will be having a formal, sit down dinner. Instead of cute little snowman, I will have antiques! I'm am going to have so much fun planning this one! I don't have much of the details done yet, but the first step to an awesome party is the thought behind it. People will see if you just try to though a party together last minute....the more effort you put in the more special your guest feel! I'll keep you updated on the detail! <3

Blog Newbie!

Yay! First day of my blog!!

All my friends and family suggested that I start my own buisness on the side doing parties! At first I thought they were crazy!! lol But I realized that I do LOVE IT!! And I was always wishing that we had more parties in our family so I could get creative!! So I decided the first step towards that would be a blog! ( Good thing my husband is very computer literate!) Without him I would still be at it!

Last week was my son Tristan's 2 year old party! It was a Disney Cars 2 Theme and I had a BLAST making everything!! Later I will post the pics so you can get a look at them! I would do it now but one of the twins is screaming to be fed! lol (Never ending battle)
